Restaurants near Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site

Longhorn Smokehouse was wonderful!! We had one of the share platters and it was fantastic. The service was also 10/10 the staff were so friendly and quick with our meals.

The food was amazing. Service wasn’t the best. They set us at the wrong table for our set menu Valentine’s Day dinner. We ended up seated in the middle of the restaurant and was basically ignored after they sat us down. Finally got their attention and lots of apologies about seating us in the wrong area. They quickly moved us to the correct table in a more secluded part of the restaurant but then took forever to bring out drinks and didn’t really ask for any additional drinks order. We had the seafood platter and it was incredible so no faulting the quality of the food. I’m not sure it the correct ambience for what they are trying to achieve with the decor. It looks like a place where it would be great for a date night but I would say it is not. More of a hotel restaurant eatery vibe, if you are seated in the main restaurant, tables are close together so you are right next to the people next to you and it’s noisy. I’d go back for a business lunch type meal but probably not for another date night. Considering they had taken the trouble of doing a special menu for Valentine’s Day, I think the lack of attention to detail let the whole experience down.

Incredible experience, the setting, the service and the food were outstanding. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left, we felt like the only people in there. We can't wait to return!

I felt the whole experience was exceptional. My husband was a little disconcerted by the restaurant moving which made it difficult for him to relax, but I found it so interesting being able to view 360 degrees of Hobart. The food was exceptional. Every duck liver parfait that I eat from now on will be compared to the one I ate here. The lobster souffle' was divine.

Service at the bar a bit lacking! Nice enough place to have a Friday drink
