- AArchibaldNew York City •13 reviews5.0Dined 5 days ago1909 is a lovely, high-end restaurant, certainly the best in and around Cooperstown, with an expectedly high price. We have dined there many times, and have become accustomed to near-perfection overall; we have never been disappointed. This particular time though, our dining ended with a panna cotta dessert that was an assemblage of bits that did not seem to form a coherent whole, including a bit that seemed like fruit leather that was so tough as to be inedible. The maître-d recognized that -- apparently we were not the first ones to order that dessert that evening, and he offered us the same part of the dessert that was supposed to be "crisper". It really wasn't, and it would have been better to start over for a dessert without that bit, but it was not offered. Still, the appetizer and main course outshone the odd dessert.More info1909Price: Very Expensive• American• Cooperstown•4.8
- CCynthiaSan Diego •11 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 26, 2024Lovely table by the window. Great service! I had The Local which was fried chicken and cheese grits. A huge portion of chicken. I think it was a whole half of a chicken. Crispy, crunchy crust and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The grits were delicious but I wish there had been more grits, less chicken. This dish could use a fresh element. Slaw or salad? Others in the group had the tofu dish. The potato samosas with salad. The soup of the day. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. We had cocktails, which were delicious but a bit overpriced. We ordered the multi layer chocolate cake. It was huge! Delicious! And the cheesecake which was also tasty. The bread basket that comes before the meal was excellent! We did mention numerous times that we were celebrating a birthday but no one on staff did anything special to acknowledge it. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back!More infoThe Hawkeye Bar & GrillPrice: Moderate• American• Cooperstown•4.8
