Before relocating to Mersea Island, Stark was the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Thanet and one of five in the whole of Kent.At Stark, only one, set tasting menu is served with no options or alternatives available. First class, the food was piping hot, which compared to some other restaurants was good news. Breakfast was very nice and could not complain about anything. The staff were as usual friendly and polite. My family go there every boxing day.

An amazing experience! The food was gorgeous and the decor was insane! What a fabulous way to begin the festive celebrations. The Sugar Plum Fairy would have approved! Best food was the Stilton and Cranberry muffin followed by the Raspberry Ripple mousse. No way we were going to have room for it all but the carry home box was exquisite in itself. Thank you for a truly unforgettable afternoon. We will be back for the Regency in January!

This in my opinion is the best Chinese restaurant ever. Staff are very attentive and extremely friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well laid out. The food is amazing and they also allow you to switch items on their set menus which is great. I go here with my partner and also family and friends. Every body we take there has always had a wonderful experience

Michelin star quality food in a relaxed, intimate and stylish restaurant. Here’s hoping it becomes Essex’s first Michelin star restaurant soon. Food was superbly cooked and presented. They serve a set tasting menu only so ensure you are up for trying new tastes.
