- SSophia GracevipNew York City •17 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThis place is the best of the best. I haven’t had a pizza in the States that can hold a candle to Song E Napule. Today we went and tried their butternut squash gnocchi— they are soft, pillowy, round shaped fresh pasta but they’re stuffed in the middle. I can’t tell you with what except that they were phenomenal and a must have. We shared them as an appetizer. Of course we don’t go there without getting a pizza from Giampiero, who has quickly become my favorite pizzaiolo, and he didn’t disappoint. Feels like heaven with every bite! This man is a maestro I tell you! I love him! I also had the privilege of meeting Giuseppe, who I believe is also a chef and pizzaiolo. What a delight! All of the food was fantastic, The Saltimbocca special is a slam bang winner! For dessert we ordered cappuccino (did I mention they have the best coffee?!) and then Omar came over and told us that the chefs were making a special dessert for us. OH. MY. GOODNESS. Or I should say “Maronna mi!” This was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had! It was like a fresh jelly and perfectly sweetened cream cheese donut— except it was like a calzone. I seriously have no words for this sinfully delicious treat that we couldn’t help but polish off even though we were trying to stay away from desserts! We said “it’s the holidays! When are we going to eat this again?!” And we savored every bite of that crunchy, yet soft and oh so flavorful outside and that velvety goodness that was on the inside. WOW! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They’re amazing! Eduardo came over to us and knew our names and was so kind and welcoming and Kevin was great and very accommodating. Omar is our usual server who really makes us feel like family. Great food. Great location (we always find parking). Great people. Very Clean! Who could ask for more? This place is a gift. We’re already planning on going back next week. Caution: When you leave, a little piece of your heart will remain at Song E Napule.More infoSong E Napule - RutherfordPrice: Expensive• Italian• Rutherford•4.7

- MMichaelNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 16, 2024Alright, buckle up, because I’m about to spill the beans on Matisse 167 in East Rutherford. This isn’t just dining—it’s a full-blown gourmet experience that hits you in the taste buds like a symphony of flavors orchestrated by food gods. From the moment we sat down, the staff was next-level exceptional, anticipating every need like they had a crystal ball. Keith, our server, was the MVP, making sure everything was flawless. Seriously, this guy must moonlight as a mind reader or something. And then there’s Greg—the chef. Oh man, this dude’s not just a chef; he’s an artist with a side of wizardry. He came out into the dining room, checking on everyone like a culinary superhero. By the time we finished our four-course Michelin-star-level meal, all I wanted to do was shake this guy’s hand and thank him for putting together a dining experience that went way beyond anything I could’ve dreamed up. Every bite was like winning the flavor lottery. Pro tip: it’s BYOB, so grab a bottle (or three) of your favorite wine and prepare to have your culinary socks knocked off. Matisse 167 isn’t just a meal—it’s an event. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation. Go there. You’re welcome.More infoMatisse 167Price: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Rutherford•4.7
