- KKathleenCalifornia Central Coast •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoNick, the server was fabulous. We go once or twice a year as we live out of the area and we look so forward to it. Everything was perfect except my lasagna wasn’t as it was last year and was a little dry and lacking sauce. I was surprised the wine was excellent. The salad was perfect. The bread was to die for overall I love going there, especially in North Beach.More infoOriginal Joe's - San FranciscoPrice: Moderate• Italian• North Beach•4.7
- MJMJWhitevipSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy girlfriends and I were there for our annual Christmas get-together and we were really looking forward to it. We found the atmosphere very different from the old Park Tavern. It now has an open, bright, kind of 60’s cheery vibe. I liked it better before, with its darker, more intimate feel. The evening, classy vibe it was known for, is gone. It’s probably better for families though, but not so much for the evening, adult crowd looking for some evening drinks and dinner. The food was good. Their roast chicken was great. No sides come with it though. Also, we chalked this up to them still working out the kinks, but they ran out of their fish special which a few of us really wanted to try. They also ran out of bread which was not ok, we were charged $8.00 for 4 slices of French bread, but there were 5 of us, so we asked for another order but they had ran out. I hope this charging for bread stops. It doesn’t give a restaurant a good feel or make it look “exclusive” by charging for bread, especially when none of the other similar restaurants nearby, with better bread, don’t charge for theirs. Drinks were fine, service was excellent!More infoPark Tavern on Washington SquarePrice: Expensive• Californian• North Beach•3.5
