The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall.     Our group met for the Christmas party menu. I had the classic prawn cocktail, traditional turkey dinner followed by creme brulee. Prawn cocktail was very good, fresh lettuce, good bread and a decent portion of prawns and sauce. Turkey dinner good but perhaps would have been better with roast potatoes. Creme brulee came with a fresh berry coulis, superb!

    We lunched with friends who had never been to Albert’s and they were amazed at the quality and value for money of the food. The drinks were equally good value …£8 for an Espresso Martini is brilliant. We asked to change tables and they did this for us and without fuss. Our server was friendly and very competent and the decor and ambience were first class. You have gained two new customers who no doubt tell their friends, As for us, Albert’s has never let us down.

    Visited Dish with two friends for our christmas get together. The restaurant was busy and buzzing, lots of laughter and very christmassy. The service was lovely even though they where busy they where attentive. The food was wonderful and i would highly recommend a visit.
