Restaurants near The Grand Cinema

Opentable needs to update the location of the restaurant. It cannot be that hard to fix.

They have a great concept. We’re visiting from Seattle. But unfortunately, I waited close to 15 minutes at the door to be seated/taken care of. They did see me several times and didn’t say a word. Not a the best service, I could tell they were shorthanded. We are a shorthanded in almost every industry. But this is a hospitality industry, so that matters.

My husband and I were very impressed with Woven. This was our first visit and our anniversary. The food was delicious and unique. From the complimentary edamame, the pho inspired ribs, an expertly executed steak, and delicious dessert. Our server had thoughtful suggestions and did a great job of balancing checking in on us while not interrupting our special evening. As someone who works in service, I was also impressed with the time and genuine interactions we had with the general manager. He made sure our visit was to our liking and took time to check in more than once. We will definitely be back and tell anyone we can to pay the restaurant a visit.

The view was perfect. I suggest one might want to reserve a table about 30 or 40 minutes before sunset. That way, as the sun goes down and the city lights come up, one will see Tacoma in many different light hues. Beautiful. The dinner was wonderfully delicious. My guests were slightly disappointed with the dessert choices because they said the options were the same as everywhere else (chocolate cake, carrot spice cake, cheesecake, brownie with ice cream …). They were hoping to find more elegant options for the price.

We ate a birthday dinner at the bar, we were able to get a good view and the server was very friendly. My Spouse ordered a beer which he did not like , so they didn’t charge us for it. That was nice. It was fun to walk around the old Elks temple and see the different venues that McMenamins have developed.
