Classic French with delicious food in a lovely space

This was my first dinner at bookbinders, and I’ve lived in Richmond for just over two years now. I have to say this was the best dining experience I’ve had in Richmond and one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The level of service was ideal and every dish was fantastic. I had asked for a quiet table in my reservation and noise level where we sat was ideal, allowing for a warm, pleasant and private conversation. Our waiter was exceptionally attuned to allowing us to talk, and, attentive to when we wanted to order.  This was a “first time meeting for dinner” with someone who is very special to me, and was an extremely pleasant experience.

Never disappointing. Great food and wine! Only disappointed that they no longer offer carafes of wine.

Th restaurant itself is gorgeous. Add to that top notch service and delicious fare and you leave the Tobacco Company one happy diner!

We spent our valentine's dinner at the bar. The choices in the set menu were balanced, we ended up getting the same dishes - both the salmon tartare and the filet mignon were outstanding. In particular the way the meat was cooked (sous-vide) delivered such a unique experience. I am a meat lover and this was just out of this world, tender, perfect medium rare, warm all over, flavorful... wow! Respect to the team for a great experience.
