The dishes are simple, made from delicious seasonal ingredients regardless of brand. Some 100 wines are available at reasonable prices. It was much more ambitious a restaurant than we expected, but the owners could not have been more welcoming -- we speak no Japanese, so they communicated using translations on their phones. We also did not expect a fixed-price menu, so they adjusted the number of courses to meet our budget. Sake was excellent, and the food was sensational. We had many great tastes, but the best may have been the tempura uni in a shiso leaf and the duck with mustard seeds and asparagus.
