The name Sarita is a nod to Chef Anthony Romano’s mentor, plus the name of a song by the New Orleans band, The Subdudes, one of the chef’s favorites. The restaurant is owned by executive chef Romano.     We started with the Charred Buffalo Wings, the Beet Tostada & the Whipped Ricotta with Sour Dough Bread. We split the Winter Greens Salad. For our entrees we had the Hokkaido Scallops & the Pasta Primavera with added Shrimp. Also enjoyed the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Our Server, Marissa, was very attentive.

    It was a very interesting experience. It is one of a kind. The speakeasy is a converted house. The main bar is the old living room of the house. The sun and moon room are converted bedrooms. The aesthetic is fun. The food was good though does seem to be a little disconnected from the idea of the speakeasy as a whole. The drinks were fun and clearly the star of the show. I would definitely recommend this as a cool meet up spot for 2 or 3 guests. Our large group did seem to take up a lot of space but the staff was very accommodating and attentive.

    It was great! I had the bouillabaisse and my wife had the lasagna. Both were great. My only minor gripe was the men’s restroom in the bottom floor. It was…interesting walking in and someone had the door open to the employee area with people working. Not bad. Just odd.
