13 Gypsies is a cozy, intimate Spanish tapas restaurant. You can also find the influence of other cuisines throughout the menu. Primarily utilizing Spanish techniques to prepare both creative and classic renditions of Spanish dishes, Chef Howard and Chef Kevan operate a true craft kitchen. The two of them prepare and cook most everything from scratch including breads, cured meats, cheeses, sausages, spice blends, pickled vegetables, and desserts. This practice of making nearly everything in house promotes waste-free cooking and higher quality food. Our wines are mainly from Spain, and our beer is Florida local. We are located in a two-story Spanish-style building built in 1923 by Henrietta Dozier, Jacksonville's only female architect in the early part of the 20th century. You will find eclectic, maximalist religious iconography adorning the walls and original floor tile. We have few tables, so reservations are highly recommended. Last seating is an hour and a half before closing time.

The Mojo experience ignited in 2003 and since then has blazed across North and Central Florida into eight locations. “Mojo” comes from the Blues, denoting a good luck feeling or vibe, and when it was paired with barbecue, a divergent atmosphere erupted.     Haven't been for a while. and never for brunch. We brought some friends with us. Everything was great. Waiter was terrific, food delicious, ambiance wonderful as always. And something you don't get to say too often, the value was excellent.

    Our anniversary dinner was unmatched—from entry to departure. I can’t speak highly enough of the “extra touches” & attention to detail that make dining here an above-par experience. Their florist even reincarnated my wife’s wedding bouquet which was sitting on our table upon arrival. It was literally a spitting image and it brought (happy) tears to my wife’s eyes. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Matthews remains our go-to for all special occasions.

    We ate outside at a table on their beautiful patio. The ambiance is excellent on a moderate temperature evening such as the one we had. Toni our server was very pleasant and courteous. The food (as always) was excellent. We love eating here!
