Restaurants near Wenat Park

Mia Francesca’s was my spot for a few years, back in the mid 90’s when I lived in Wrigleyville until life took me to Colorado. Came in from Denver, CO & normally just stay with family in the south suburbs. This year we decided to stay a night in Chicago so I wanted my wife, son & daughter to experience & taste the BEST ITALIAN food in Chicago for their 1st time. Italian food in Colorado as well as pizza is well below mediocre. Our pasta dishes were amazing. Served hot. Had calamari for an app with 2 salads. Salad portions were perfect to share. Bread/oil was fresh and a perfect size. Pasta dishes were plentiful & if we hadn’t not eaten all day, we probably would have needed to-go boxes but we finished every last bite and then some. SHOUT OUT TO CHARLOTTE, although a packers fan (haha) for the exceptional service and going above and beyond making our experience UN-FORGETTABLE. Super attentive, personable, professional, sweet, fun & friendly. THANK YOU!!! My family couldn’t stop talking about how great the food, staff & restaurant was.

Wood is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! There menu is ever-changing and highly unique. The cocktails are also exceptional. Our server last night was fabulous!

Bites is the family gathering place when I visit my daughter in the city. The General Tso chicken was just a bit dry but still good. The jumbo shrimp won tons were awesome! My daughters favorite is the honey bourbon sesame chicken. Staff is excellent and the restaurant is so welcoming and pretty.

I primarily went for the Xtreme Drag Bingo held every Thursday evening. I made a reservation, but I doubt I couldn't have just walked in at 6 pm. Plenty of open tables and seating at the bar. Once Bingo started, Lark started filling in. Seems to be a popular event with several regulars. High energy and so much fun! I had the Thursday Happy Special margaritas for $10 each. They were reasonably strong but hard to not sip faster! The nachos were a generous portion, but the cheese had the texture of Cheesewiz. Otherwise they were yummy and satisfying. And 25% off on Thursdays!

I just ordered the R burger. I didn’t realize how huge it was, but it was definitely worth the price. And my server was super kind. I already made another reservation for next week.
