- HHenryManchester/Greater Manchester •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoHave been here before for a dim-sum lunch and was very impressed. Decided to revisit for a special occasion and wasn’t let down at all. The food is great quality and the staff make you feel welcome and are friendly. The decor of the restaurant is classy and smart, genuinely a nice place to eat and highly recommended.More infoHome Chinese ManchesterPrice: Moderate• Chinese• Manchester•4.7

- SScottLondon •3 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFirst time at Try Thai. Won’t be our last, either. We love Thai food and this is the best we’ve had in Manchester. Already planning to go back late January for my birthday.More infoTry ThaiPrice: Moderate• Thai• Manchester•4.5
- SSianManchester/Greater Manchester •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoLunch for 2 on the seasonal £40 sharing menu in the Saturday before Christmas. I’d heard and read so many good things about Higher Ground but not managed to get here until now, all of which were entirely justified. The interior (my bag) is cool, stylish and well laid out, tables not too close to each other. A really friendly welcome when we walked in, genuine and warm. Superlative staff, informed, enthusiastic without being over attentive, and knowledgable. Wonderful food, a smashing selection of dishes from the full menu. Pea fritters, British crab, incrediblly tasty cured meat, golden beets, warm freshly baked bread & whipped butter, succulent leeks - all excellent. Then a sharing main of Dexter beef on a delicate but hearty mushroom spelt porridge and a bowl of mash homegrown on the HG farm in Cheshire. I’ll be attempting to recreate smoked butter at home but doubtless will fail to make it this delicious. For the quality of food, attention to detail, quality of service, this was £40 per head very well spent. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.More infoHigher GroundPrice: Very Expensive• British• Manchester•4.8
- HHayleyManchester/Greater Manchester •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 18, 2024We are a family of four, including two boisterous children. The gentleman who served us absolutely “got the memo” that I needed to discreetly pick the most suitable table to ensure we didn’t disrupt other diners. He was excellent and understanding the boys’ need to be away from other customers and brought us kids menus. The menus seem “slim pickings” but we felt like we had a good selection for our picky kids and us being pescatarian. The cocktail menu was great and we enjoy a few of those. The kids had good sized portions or burger and chicken “nugget” and thick cut chips. We had a selection of veggie sharing plates. All of the food was so incredibly tasty and we felt really full despite the portion sizes looking quite small on arrival. We’d definitely like to return to have more of the menu. We’d just have appreciated a faster service because the kids were getting restless waiting for their puddings. Other than that, this is a very easy place to recommend to others!More infoThe Restaurant at The RefugePrice: Moderate• Global, International• Manchester•4.3
