   My wife and I went out to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day dinner. We chose Larsen’s based on the prestige this establishment once had rivaling the other nice steakhouses in Southern California. I had not been to this location before. The food was wonderful. To our disappointment, our experience with the employees was horrible. Our server condescendingly advised us that “steakhouses” generally don’t come with sides as we asked here to explain the daily specials. At the end of the meal, the server was rude about the effort needed to input gift cards we used as partial payment. Then the server stood (literally, not figuratively) over my shoulder while I input the gratuity. When I approached the hosts at the front desk about inquiring to speak with a manager about our experience, they pointed me in his general direction not escorting. After finding the manager, he was uninterested in listening to the situation. He told me he would contact me the following day by phone. I presume based on the phone under used for the reservation. Several days later and no call has been received. It’s unfortunate that an establishment that was once held in such high regard has declined this far.

   We enjoyed a nice appetizer, dinner, and a bottle of wine for a belated Valentine’s Day date night. We will continue to eat at Larsen’s, great food, great service. Will visit more often. Thanks!

   Regretfully it was a bad experience. We’ve been here many times before and have always enjoyed their service and food. This time around all was not good. My husband was not able to eat his steak, if was undercooked not as he requested. Taste was left to be desired. We ordered a couple of sides and the baked potato did not come out and it wasn’t till we asked that they told us they had run out of potatoes. Drinks took at least 15 minutes to come out. I was half way through my steak when my glass of wine was brought to our table. Kept having to ask to have water refilled. We requested a booth because we were celebrating our anniversary yet we were seated at a small table, uncomfortable chairs, next to a large party with kids. This is a steakhouse with a bill of $400 for 2 people, not an experience you’d expect. They should have made it right. One bad thing is one thing but to have a series of things go wrong - it should’ve been made right. Definitely disappointed and we won’t be back, at least no time soon.

   What a dinner! From sitting down service to finishing dessert, everything was flawlessly executed in service and the food was incredible. The broccolini side was my least favorite, but not bad by any means. Filets, rib eye, cauliflower gratin, and truffle fries didn’t disappoint! I’ll be back for more goodness soon!

    Larsen’s Steakhouse owes us nothing! We were looking for somewhere close to home with late seating for New Years Eve and they fit the bill. We made a 10pm reservation, the restaurant was decorated so pretty and festive, there was a gentleman playing the baby grand and singing, the staff were all delightful in spite of how busy it was. Our server was great, she was full of holiday cheer. The food was absolutely delicious (I have never had lobster so tender and perfectly cooked) and right before midnight they passed out champagne and noisemakers and we all ushered in 2025 with great shouts of joy!! Did we splurge? Yes, but it was absolutely worth it!
