Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Chef François Soyez's menu to be deliciously approachable.                                                               I had the pasta dish with chicken that was wonderful. My husband had one of his favorite dishes, the filet of sole with crabmeat that is always cooked perfectly. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Bordeaux. Pascal and his staff provide excellent service every time we dine there.

                                                              Normally the dining experience at Lavendou is 5 stars. The food & service were excellent as usual. However, we were seated adjacent to a large party of 12+ people. Between their loud talking & their standing & moving from table to table, made for a less than a desirable experience. A party of that size should have been isolated away from the other diners.

                                                              The cassoulet was wonderful, and my husband's veal was tender and delicious. We also enjoyed a nice Bordeaux. We always enjoy Lavendou and the excellent service.

                                                              The food was good as always. But the service was not. They have clearly added too many tables as it's crowded, yet we had to wait about 20 min after arrival for our reservation (on time) to get seated and then we never saw our assigned server, one of the managers seemed to take care of us. I know they mean well, but it was not great service. Clearly they are understaffed and taking too many reservations for the time allotted.

                                                              Food and service were great. We did have a hard time hearing our friends. We were a group of four. The restaurant was very crowded which might have made a difference.

                                                              Lavendou is one of our favorite restaurants and we've been coming here for 20+ years. We went last night for my birthday and were sadly disappointed. One word... cold. I had the escargot, which is normally too hot to handle and it was tepid when I touched it. I then had the tenderloin and the vegetables were down right chilled rather than freshly cooked and I did not touch them. The tenderloin on the other hand was perfect. My wife had the apple tart, her go-to as it is delicious and when I tried it... it was also cold. I had the chocolate souffle and it was also cold even though the waiter kept telling us it is just two minutes away. Very disappointed and it really put a damper on the evening. Not sure what happened as this is not typical for Lavendou but maybe there were issues in the kitchen or the waiter just forgot about us (we arrived at 5:30 for a early dinner). Obviously at that time, the kitchen was not that busy. We will keep coming back to our favorite but I hope they get their kitchen together in the future. Luckily I was not bringing clients in or extended family.
