Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.

Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

                                                                    I now see why my friends & clients say LeChon is their favorite restaurant in Portland! Flavors were outstanding! We had the scallops, kalbi ribs, shrimp ceviche, gaucho bread, brussel sprouts & lava cake for dessert. Everything is family style so large servings. Can't wait to go back there!

                                                                    I’m a foodie but hadn’t made it to Lechon yet. I had friends coming into town and risked it but suggesting a place I hadn’t yet been to because a few of my foodie friends recommended it. I was not disappointed and it’s one of the best meals I’ve had this year. Every plate we tried was done well and packed with flavor. Highly recommend the shrimp ceviche, bone marrow/bread, fried chicken bites, tri -tip and Pupusas. The duck fried rice was a favorite at our table!

Potatas bravas were superb …the best I’ve had outside of actually being in Spain… plantain fritters were a surprise of sweet and salty… elote simply delicious!  The brussels sprouts with the sauce and the pepper empanada we’re excellent as was the lava cake. Less impressive was the scallop dish with polenta…. I wish the scallops had been cooked a little bit more and the flavor was surprisingly bland.. we loved the ambience in our server was excellent. We will definitely be back.
