Not many selections and prices were a bit high and I did not enjoy what I selected.

Food and service were excellent. Views were fantastic. Restaurant was almost empty when we visited on a Sunday night in October. Difficult to reach anyone by phone at the resort for dining or lodging questions.

The food is incredible. We all had amazing dishes - the ravioli, Alfredo, burgers, etc. The service is where they lost me. After being alerted we would be a few minutes late for our reservation at 7:30, we were told they closed the kitchen at 8 and could not accommodate us showing up late… mind you, this is Friday on Labor Day Weekend. I understand closing early on weekdays, but on a Friday? Ok, fine. We rushed over. We show up for our reservation to be greeted by a rude host, we were promptly sat and then waited for almost 15 minutes (7:51 now) before I had to go ask for a server to greet us. To which, our server, was the least friendly, least attentive worker I’ve encountered. I watched him greet and serve other tables with personality and kindness where we were met with cold and rude. Would recommend the food. That’s it.

Great view and setting. Great to have a shuttle for Lodge Guests. Both of our meals was very good, we both noted the main course portion size was limiting with no bread/dinner rolls offered. Mixed drinks at $14 to $18, was very overpriced. Dessert was outstanding and indeed shareable. Service was slow and lacking, even with limited number of diners on a Saturday evening and reservations being "so required". After dining and waiting for check for a very long time, we left to enjoy the deck before sunset, finally settling with the bill at the hostess desk. Still a great (expensive) special occasion dining experience. Hopefully, management can improve the service and menu details to get to five stars.

We had cocktails and dinner at Lightburn's. It was not crowded when we dined, so we had a peaceful meal admiring the scenery atop the hill where the restaurant sits. They had interesting drinks, including a smoke filled manhattan and a cosmo with a perfectly hemispheric bubble on top. Not being hungry we just had dinner salads. We made the mistake of ordering the large size salads. They were huge--too big to finish. Service was friendly though not very attentive considering how few diners there were. One significant misstep is that they brought our food before our cocktails . We had wanted to relax with our drinks for a while before the meals arrived. On a positive note, we were treated to a complimentary slice of chocolate cake, as we were celebrating a birthday.

Light burns is a nice little restaurant located at the golf course at Stonewall Jackson Resort. Went for dinner. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the ribeye. It was excellent. Perfectly prepared medium rare. The accompaniments were mashed potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus was a bit overcooked. Had a glass jar of Cabernet which was unremarkable. My wife had grilled chicken that was good but a bit tough. Overall a decent meal with a great view.

We loved this restaurant! Started with the fried green tomato appetizer, which was huge and delicious. The citrus splashed seared snapper was awesome! Service was great, too. Don't miss the creative cocktails. Cannot wait to go back!

Very bummed about this experience as we purposely booked it for the final night of our trip to celebrate our anniversary & were super excited as we heard great things! Ordered drinks & an app - drinks took so long that our app came out first, at which point I had to ask about them. Shortly after asking, I got my $16 martini delivered…. Half full at MOST. I understand some bartenders aren’t going to fill the glass to rim (even though that is the standard for a martini), but I was genuinely shocked at the audacity to both make and then serve a drink with most of it missing. We asked for a minute before ordering our main meal and nobody returned for a solid 10-15 minutes. This actually worked out fine, because it was becoming a pretty awkward experience, so we had ample time to discuss and decide to go elsewhere to finish out the night. We ended up back at the lodge sitting at the bar at TJ muskies, chatting it up with the bartenders & ended up having a great night with them.
