It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

Besides delicious cuisine, style and service, Linwoods Catering can offer its clients expertise and experience. This comes from almost twenty years of catering events from small celebrations at home to galas for thousands. Linwoods has catered weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, charity balls, and openings. Our goal is to make our clients happy and relaxed, to provide special menus tailored to your style within your price range. We can also connect you to other reliable vendors, who will help make your event spectacular.
Private party facilities
Linwoods' delicious cuisine, style and service can also be experienced during catered events held at our facility. There are two private rooms, one that seats up to 20 people "Private Dining Room", and "Due", which seats up to 120. "Due" also has the capacity to hold about 150 for cocktails and buffet. There is an outdoor area that can be tented. These areas can accommodate entertainment and a dance floor. These spaces are lovely for weddings, parties, corporate events and meetings, as well as social gatherings.

Linwoods consistently delivers on every facet of a fine fining experience. It is typically busy but never boisterous. Comfortable seating with enough separation for intimacy if needed. The servers are professional and polished. From drinks through dessert everything is perfectly crafted. Nothing is just average or fine. This is one of the rare restaurants where you actually get your money’s worth. By the way, if you’re a chocoholic get the old fashioned ice cream sundae with extra chocolate sauce on the side. Heaven.

Always a great experience at Linwoods. Food is reliably delicious and wholesome. Flexible with modifications and always looking to please the customer. Linwoods is always bustling with a great vibe, but still quiet enough to have a conversation at your table. I was a little disappointed with an error or two in our order but overall still terrific. Overcharge was quickly corrected and wrong dish was fixed within minutes. The pineapple martinis are the best in the land so I hope those never go away. Desserts are always top notch.

You can always count on Linwood's to have a high quality experience. Staff is friendly and efficient. This visit was for lunch and the food taste did not reach the level I am used to in the evening. It has become a bit pricey.

Great place for intimate dinner or business dinner. Wait staff are attentive without being rude. Food was good. We started with lobster tempura and crab soup, entrees were crab cakes and scallops with shrimp pasta, ended with apple tarts. Everything was delicious
