The Boatman, is Windsor’s only pub on the river at the foot of Windsor Castle overlooking Eton Bridge. Serving freshly cooked food all day everyday from midday to 9pm at night, in the cosy bar, restaurant or in the stunning riverside all-weather conservatory, there is a fine selection of wine, ales, cocktails to choose from.
The bar area and terrace is dog friendly, we cannot accept any pets in the conservatory or restaurant.

Fabulous food - the fish pie is really gorgeous and is very popular. The staff are all fantastic - welcoming, warm and very helpful. Atmosphere of the building is cosy and the beams are fantastic although ducking may be required in places! A walk down the pontoon to look at the river and watch the wildlife is a must, even in chilly weather. Car park spaces are limited but everyone seems to manage fine!

This restaurant stood out as one of the best we've visited due to its outstanding overall experience. The food was v. Good; we shared the seafood paella, which was not only very tasty but also quite filling especially after the yummy mushroom starter and popcorn mussels. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food is very tasty and great selection on the fixed menu. Though noticed the increase in price and removal of glass of wine which was previously offered, shame… Nice touch at the end to celebrate special occasion so we were grateful for that. Staff was very professional and attentive. I would actually say they were Too Attentive with topping up water, asking multiple times if the food was good etc. We had to stop our conversations multiple times and it felt quite invasive. I know it was with good intentions but would suggest on calming it down a bit. Ambience as always very special.

Absolutely wonderful as always, the food was brilliant and everyone who served us was lovely. They also put a candle in my husbands dessert for his birthday, which I really appreciated. However, they absolutely need to do something about the toilets. In the middle of a cold, wet, winters evening it’s really unpleasant needing to go outside into the mud to go to the toilet in a shed in the garden centre. Not really appropriate for a £100 a head dining experience. The only dark spot on an otherwise lovely evening.

In 2016 the Old School BBQ was born, using a freshly imported 1982 Bluebird International American school bus from Arizona as a mobile kitchen.

The bus was converted from a traditional seated bus to a fully functional kitchen, with smokers and griddles to cook low and slow BBQ food. The OSB journey had begun, trading from humble beginnings on a local pub car park in Failsworth.

Our little yellow bus soon became a familiar landmark and we became more and more popular with lunch goers who wanted freshly prepared, appetising food served with a smile. Soon demand meant that we would be more often than not greeting our customers with a "sold out" sign, so it was time to expand.

So here we are, with a covered seated area serving our firm favourites, complemented with a fully licenced bar and WC facilities... did we mention the stage? That's right, we also provide live music from various acts from near and far - we are sure you will find our eatery to be like no other!

Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.

In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. This is the second time we have been to this lovely pub. The food is excellent not your usual pub grub. A varied and well thought out menu Great service and lovely friendly atmosphere. I had the seafood stew with chorizo which was wonderful. Mu husband had the lentil curry which he really enjoyed Coffee machine wasn't working but we were going on to Sheringham so no problem.

We had a brilliant evening, celebrating my partner's 50th birthday. There were five of us in total, including our 11yr old son and 8yr old twin daughters. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating or more attentive and were there frequently checking in to see if we were okay. In fact, I would say the service was exceptional. The setting was stunning. In an outside, heated pod overlooking the river...perfect! The food was delicious and although slightly more expensive than we would usually pay, it did not seem extortionate and the plates of food were well presented and enjoyed by everyone.

Had a nice lunch today at the S & D, three adults and two very young children. Staff very accommodating and helpful which made our experience most pleasant. Food portions are very generous and good value for money. Will definitely go again.

The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. An excellent experience at The Cat today. We haven't been there for a while but our lunch was delicious, the quality of the food was as we have always remembered it. Attentive but unobtrusive service and a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Nothing seems to have changed so hope to be back again soon.

Going to rural pubs in Yorkshire and being a vegetarian is a hard one. It’s often very similar food and it all comes down to the cooking of it. Tremendous gnocchi, wonderful focaccia for starter and delicious choux pastry (I’ve not had choux that well made in years). My partner wanted about 5 onion crumpets to eat and thoroughly enjoyed the duck as well. Enjoyed by both. Ambience was lovely, venue was lovely, brilliant and friendly service.

We were lucky to have a table with a view of the minster. Great place for a restaurant, great ambiance and service. We were there on a very cold February lunchtime so outside seating not possible! Food was great, considering the top tourist position the food wasn’t overpriced.

The Crathorne Arms is a great pub in a wonderful community spirited village, lovely people, Lord Crathorne himself couldn’t be more supportive, how lucky we are.

Our life has come a full circle from a town pub in Middlesbrough (well Eugene has) to the tontine (McCoys Hotel, Restaurant and Bistro) to a village pub in Crathorne, Ten Minutes from Middlesbrough.

We live above the pub, our furniture and furnishings live downstairs as they can’t and won’t fit up the stairs! So the canoe has the condiments, the bookcases our books, the huge sofa with big squashy cushions to sink into, tin lanterns reflecting patterns on the ceiling, this all makes for a homely feel and that’s what we would like to create along with good wholesome food and drink.

Of Course the staff, front of house and kitchen are all great, hardworking, smiley, enthusiastic young people and a joy to work with.
