We are excited for your visit, and welcome you to experience our beautiful outdoor dining room in Newport Beach. That being said we are outdoors and encourage all guest to dress appropriate to the season. We have added a beautiful heated covered awning for the winter months. We offer blankets for sale that can be kept, or left behind and donated to a local charity we support. We will still be requesting a two hour dinning limit per visit.

Lovely restaurant- beautiful view. Similar to Chart House next door but less formal. Food is amazing. I had oysters to start, beet salad. Miso glazed Chilean sea bass, white chocolate bread pudding. Will absolutely be going back !

The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

My wife had the beet salad with the fried tofu and it was refreshing and tasty. We split the guacamole and chips which was awesome. I had the tacos which I would get again but need to try other dishes like the burrito! I wish there were locations near the South Bay.

What a beautiful experience! The food was absolutely incredible; the flavors were out of this world. Portions are small and expensive so definitely save for a special occasion. We had the four course menu plus a dozen oysters and the croque madame between two and were still hungry but we’ll still definitely be back due to the quality. The service was wonderful, the open kitchen added to the atmosphere and the decor was lovely. I did get chilly inside due to the door being left open so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear. I can’t wait to try the other restaurants under the same Ownership group!

Great place for our date night! Everything was clean and professional. Food was amazing 👏 and the views were awesome too. Very limited on the parking, but thankfully they had complementary valet parking available. The main entres were about $40 per person and they had tons of different wines available. Excellent fresh Red Snapper. Large, tender chicken fried steak. Good wine selection. Attentive , friendly servers. Good coffee. Not impressed with the bread pudding….just a thick solid square of bread ( cake) with bananas foster sauce. I’ll try the Key Lime pie, next time. Also…interesting location…in a field…but it works! Dress code is more casual, than dressy. Will definitely be back.

After soaking in the TRB’s Santa Barbara mission architecture, you’ll enter and be greeted by a triple arched Brunswick mahogany bar. Spectacular quality meat. It's very energetic without the loud music. Greatest prices for quality you get. Terrific bartenders. I wish the hostesses would ride up the elevator with us because I like finding out about the restaurant and hearing about their steaks AND it feels less cold than riding up alone. I always like to converse and feel the friendliness of the restaurant. VERY IMPORTANT.

We were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary, Originally I was nervous because they sat us at the patio bar area but it was heated and blankets were provided. Our waiter, whose name I can't remember was pretty great, he checked on us, kept our wine glass filled, and did not steer me wrong with the espresso martini. The food was also delicious, we ordered the tomahawk, Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, poke, Caesar salad, and black truffle mac n cheese. everything was delicious. would definitely go back again.

About the restaurant

Since our opening in 2008, Terrain Cafe grew naturally from a small coffee shop nestled in the store to a full-service restaurant offering seasonally inspired brunch, dinner, and beverage menus. Our dedicated culinary team works closely with purveyors to ethically source fresh, high-quality ingredients that lay the foundation for our nourishing dishes. Each cafe's unique and deliberately designed environment blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces, providing an inspiring dining experience every time. This specific cafe will always have unique roots, and we'll undoubtedly remain embedded in them as we grow.

We stopped for a late lunch while traveling. Food was good, nice wine list but most impressive was the the server was informed that my Open Table preference included Vegetarian and she went out of her way to point out how the menu could work for me.

We celebrated our first anniversary here. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance transported us to France, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the wine list was extensive and well-curated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

An amazing experience from beginning to the end. The staff were so friendly and attentive, the owner was welcoming, and the restaurant and vineyards was unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Highly recommended, especially on a nice summer evening.
