Tried Stock Hill for Restaurant Week. Was not disappointed. Our party splurged on extra cost Waygu filets and thick ribeyes. These ended up being outstanding cuts of beef and were perfectly prepared. Side was a little ridiculous...a swirl of mash potato maybe twice the size of of a Hershey kiss; But it was good. Service was outstanding. Friendly but not overly familar, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. Thank you Matt! Space is modern, comfortable, a little noisy but not bad enough to make conversation difficult. The place was bustling on the Friday night we were there. They had a live jazz band that added to ambiance without being a distraction from the food and conversation. Regular menu was just a little pricey, but comparable to other steak and seafood restaurants on the Plaza. Really nice house special cocktails, and extensive wine list with some bargains as well as some very special, very pricey bottles. Would definitely recommend for special occasions, or more often if you've got the coin.

Had the lunch Restaurant Week Menu. The Toffee Butter Cake is sinfully delicious! Worth the trip. Not on the Restaurant Week dinner menu or the regular menu. Try it while you can. So rich; split it and the berries for two. They need to bring this back for Valentine’s Day for sure.

Set in Kansas City’s historic City Market, Brown and Loe Restaurant’s inviting atmosphere is a blend of “big city” bistro with the welcoming casual flavor of a neighborhood favorite. Housed in a former Merchant’s Bank constructed in 1920, the restaurant honors the architectural details of the two-story building which features a façade of plate glass and verde marble floors and walls.
In the 1940’s, Brown and Loe was originally a produce broker with offices on the second floor of the Merchant’s Bank building. Grand Street Cafe was my mother in laws favorite restaurant, so we went there on Christmas Eve for brunch. Food was ok. The fish taco disappointed but the other entrees were fine. Very good service.

Steve, our server, was incredible. He helped make a normal date night out something special. My partner ordered a couple drinks that weren't on the menu, including an Irish coffee and Steve added an extra bit of buttercream into the drink. The light piano in the background, as well as the decor, really made the night feel like we'd stepped into the past.

It is a custom that dates back past the 1500's. Traditionally, the exact food served is less important than the social occasion. Tapas is a way of life. It signifies leisure, camaraderie and good humor. In Spain, Tapas are almost always accompanied by wine. They are not so much about talking as they are about eating and drinking. The wine is the medium that holds the conversation with friends and the food together. You make time to enjoy the moment in an unhurried way. The threefold purpose of snacking on tapas is to dull any hunger pangs that have built up since the previous intake of comestibles.

Jimmy invested his enthusiasm and passion for exceptional contemporary American food, steaks and wine to build one of the finest restaurants in Kansas City just a block west of the Country Club Plaza. One of our favorite restaurants. I think NY Eve depleted their wine selection. Hubby had lobster bisque, sautéed mushrooms & a filet perfectly cooked. I had crab stuffed shrimp, Caesar salad & toasted cauliflower. The bread was even better than usual. Our waiter, Fred, was very attentive, as usual.

The food was great except my steak was burnt instead just being cooked to well done. There is no reason to burn it, just cook it slowly until it is done with frequent turning the meat. Otherwise I love eating here. And the atmosphere is calm and relaxed with attentive staff who cater and ensure our experience is wonderful.

My wife and I each had the filet mignon entree from the KC Restaurant Week menu. Delicious. The filet came with whipped potatoes and steamed broccoli which was a pleasant surprise because we also had carmellized brussel sprouts to share. Service was exxcellent. Dessert choices were among 6. Atmosphere was casual. Our first time there, but not our last.

It was a delight to experience the young people learning essential skills. Our wait staff was wonderfully attentive and enthusiastic. The food was truly gourmet. I was impressed with the entire menu. We had a tour of the classrooms and kitchens at the end of the evening conducted by one of the students. We loved seeing the passion and joy in the youth. If I had any complaint it is that reservations go quickly. I would love to experience the Broadmoor Bistro far more regularly! I highly recommend

Incredible experience. This was our first time and after reading some recent reviews I was concerned but everything was awesome. Service was great, ambiance does not feel like anything remotely close to Wichita, KS and each course of dinner was on point. Well done. We’ll be back for sure!

Jess was an excellent server! Food was tasty. It is too damn loud there though. Bring back the deviled eggs they were yummy!

Food was delicious. Our server Jimmy was knowledgeable and very friendly. Calamari was the best I had! Tables are very close together though, maybe trying to recreate an actual French experience?

Blvd Tavern is a modern American Tavern focused on delivering warm hospitality, delicious food and great drinks in a comfortable neighborhood setting in the heart of the Kansas City Crossroads Art District.
Our menu changes frequently and focuses on seasonal ingredients. We prepare everything on our menu from scratch, from the buttermilk biscuits at brunch to the hand cut fries on our daily grind burger. We offer dinner five nights a week, lunch Wed-Fri and Brunch on Sat and Sun mornings.
Our dining room is a mix of brick and reclaimed wood (we even have wood from a barn the owner's great-grandfather built on the family farm in 1902). Our quaint patio is one of Kansas City's best kept secrets.

My French toast was amazing. The blueberry compote and the orange zest whipped cream is the next level. My friend got the biscuits and gravy and eggs, and the eggs were hot, but the biscuits and the gravy were lukewarm. For just being a the only people in the restaurant at opening it should’ve been hot. The bottomless mimosas, rum punch, and bloody Mary’s are the best deal, especially when you get there at 10 AM!!
