Chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro first opened in 2000, in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards District, and quickly became the city’s premiere dining establishment. Love has designed a menu influenced by all of the ingredients and cultures that have been a part of the West since the first adventure began on the Goodnight-Loving and Chisholm Trails — with an added level of modern sophistication. Love’s food at Lonesome Dove reflects his famously unique “Urban Western” cuisine, celebrating his creative uses of bold flavors and wild game, with an inventive selection of steaks and seafood to dishes such as Wagyu Tomahawk, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Rocky Mountain Elk Ribeye, Wild Boar Ribs, and Rabbit & Rattlesnake Sausage. The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro has received numerous awards and critical acclaim from Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Zagat Survey, Southern Living, Esquire, The New York Times, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News, and more.

LOVED everything about this restaurant! Sean our server was great! Bar and lighting in main room with view of open kitchen is amazing! Cozy table! Lighting in side-room we noticed was horrible. Hushpuppies and butter lettuce salad to start…amazing!!! Steak, trout, fries and brussel sprouts for dinner…all incredible! Wish we lived here, it would be a frequent date-night spot! Thank you! Loved everything!!

Wow. Shocked and surprised how bad that was. Had huge hopes and expectations, really disappointed. Not a memorable dish or bite. Got hassled to submit ‘entire’ food order before we even had a cocktail in our hand. Dinner reservation 7:15… got out steak after 9. Beat bite of the night… baby gem salad.

Everything was great—the food, service and ambience, but the wine list was ridiculous. The list was limited and extremely overpriced. Stick with mixed drinks if you go.

I was looking forward to sharing the experience with my daughter. She is a certified “ foodie” as a catering mgr. at a very upscale Mexican restaurant in Dallas. I dined at TLD more than a decade ago and remember it being fabulous. The service was excellent but I wouldn’t say the food was memorable. It was good, but not great. I never leave bad reviews. I hope this is received constructively.

The dinner was delicious. However, thee of us had the blue corn hush puppies and all three have felt with extreme food sickness.

Food and service were great, but much too noisy. I couldn’t hear the conversation at my table of 4. People at other tables were talking very loud to the point of yelling. I need to come back at a time when the restaurant is not so busy, or I can’t enjoy it because of the noise.

We were there for a 5:15 reservation. With in moments the place was starting to fill up. Our server was triple sat so we felt he was a bit rushed….kinda a bummer. When you put your order in you order all the items. It was kinda weird. You just can’t order an appetizer then a salad. We had to pick it out all at once. The rattlesnake sausage was a small serving but the Elk sliders were amazing. Then there was this huge lull before we got our salad or entree. Bring a jacket as it is freezing in this place. We sat in the very front of the restaurant and we felt the ac was just blowing on us. Overall the food was a great experience.
