Located at the heart of Hanover Street, Lucia Ristorante is an institution in Boston's North End. Opened in 1977, Lucia was the first restaurant to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Boston's oldest neighborhood. We continue to combine traditional Italian favorites with innovative new dishes in our distinctive atmosphere. Ample summertime patio seating is available in the newly bricked courtyard of our neighbor, St. Stephen's Church.

The food was excellent. Appetizer- the mozzarella & prosciutto - was delicious. Caesar salad was excellent. Lots of shaved parm. The gnocchi and veal parm were excellent. Their red sauce is top quality. Service is very fast. We had some delicious wine by the glass.

Juan was outstanding! He made sure to take care of us and made a special day even better celebrating my birthday and our first night out since having a baby.

Nice mix between quality italian food and casual family ambiance. Went in expecting more of a fine-ish dining experience, and was delighting to be sat in the basement with checkered tables and Michael Jackson “Beat It” playing; more of our vibe. Impossible to not notice the high quality ingredients. Started with very good calamari. I had the stuffed veal, and my girlfriend had the tricolore. Veal was delicious, same for the pasta and the sauce. Tricolore was advertised as a dish for two, very good but definitely more of a dish for one, maybe two light eaters. Three drinks total, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert after tip came to about $185. Definitely more of an occasion destination for me, even with the casual and fun atmosphere

Reserved a birthday dinner for the 4 of us and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience! They took care of us like their own. They truly made our friend celebrating her birthday feel special with every staff member remembering her name throughout the night. A couple of complimentary drinks were a cherry on top!

Read about Lucia in Best of Boston. This place is a food factory. We had a reservation, but it was difficult to get the front door as the hostess stands in the entry way and is surrounded by others waiting for a table. Place is packed with students. Once we were seated and ordered, appetizers came out within five minutes. As we started eating our appetizers, the entrees came out. Not only was there not enough room on the table, but we could not enjoy anything. We were seated, ordered, ate in 45 minutes. And the food was just ok. When I went to get my car from valet, he was no where to be found. Finally the hostess agreed to call him. Never going back and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

everything was too rushed. from the waitress coming to order drinks when we hadn't looked through the menu. I ordered a soup and It was Luke warm, then another person delivered the full meal too soon (so I wasn't even 1/2 way done w/ the soup); the chicken and pasta dish was edible, but no seasoning and the pasta was cool ( the chicken was hot). overall, not a relaxing , enjoyable meal.

This restaurant was average, at best. Atmosphere was great, but service could have been more warm and attentive. Carbonara was lacking creaminess & flavor. Pappardelle bolognese was fine, but not much better than what I could make myself at home with boxed pasta and a jar of sauce. A little overpriced for the quality of food received. Overall, would not be likely to return. There are certainly better Italian restaurants in the North End.
