   The Holiday Tea Service at Magdalena is by far the best I've had outside of London proper. The tea selection consists of 5 lovingly curated teas, which I do prefer to being overwhelmed by a list of 100 teas I've never heard of. The small selection also allows Emma to go into depth about the quirks of each of the teas and I really appreciated getting smell samples of the tea beforehand as well as being walked through the process of preparing each tea we chose. The sandwich/scone/and pastries were all absolutely delicious. The portions at Magdalena were the largest I've seen at any high tea service in the US yet, but it was still a large snack rather than the type of fourth meal you'd get in in the UK. The entire staff was lovely, but being guided through the process by Emma, Madgalena's tea and coffee maven, who is full of enthusiasm for tea, coffee (and honestly all things delicious) elevates the experience form just another afternoon snack to a loving and fun homage to tea.

   Lovely food and ambiance, but we were seated next to a service station which was unfortunate. Drinks were outstanding, service was great except our server was noticeably less attentive after we did not order a bottle of wine or app. (We got the bread for two and two entrees, a cocktail, and a few glasses of wine)

   We dined here for the first time in honor of my husband’s retirement, and it was a wonderful experience. Randall was our waiter and he was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the wines and the menu. We had a lot of questions about the history of the hotel/restaurant and Randall answered our questions patiently and offered to have the manager of the hotel stop by our table. He did stop by and gave us more details about the history and offered to give us a tour when we finished our dinner. Certainly it is a very special place; we would go here again.

   I visited Magdalena at The Ivy Hotel with my sister for their Tea Service. We arrived a little early and were given a tour of the lovely hotel from a gentleman at the valet station whose name I unfortunately can’t recall. We were allowed to see Room 2 also known as the Watermelon Room. It was a well appointed space that I would love to return and stay in. We were moved to music/billiard room as we were the only guests. Emma, our server, had an amazing knowledge of teas. We were provided a sniffing board that we could use to smell each tea while she explained each tea. We learned everything from how they were made and how they are best served. We both selected Equitea ( a local company)Teas. The tea was delicious and the pastries were some of the best I’ve had. Emma was also very knowledgeable of the area and explained the neighborhood’s history with musical anecdotes. Magdalena has drinks that celebrate many local musicians. I really enjoyed myself and look forward to returning.

   I attended the afternoon tea with my sister. The tea & pastries were delicious . The ambience was great. And our server was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about tea as well as Baltimore's rich musical history. I highly recommend!

   To be fair it was Thanksgiving day, so maybe they didn’t bring their “A Game”. The cocktail was awesome and the curry Autumn soup were our highlights
