Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

                                                                  We celebrated my husband's birthday at Marche last night and it was the high quality experience we have com to expect over the 21 years we have dined there. If you are dining here soon we recommend the crab cakes, short ribs and trout. Enjoy!

                                                                  Really wonderful menu, preparations & presentations. Definitely a place where I wanted to preset everything on the menu! Cocktails, steak tartare, pizzettas & salads were standouts, plus really great & friendly staff!

                                                                  Marche is a lovely restaurant with very good to outstanding meals. I very much enjoyed the carrot-parnip soup and roasted vegetables over couscous. (I ate vegetarian--other options are available). The blood orange margarita was attractive and done well.

                                                                  My only disappointment was that pork chops weren't on the menu, as that's my go-to, but everything was delicious, byond that. I didn't think I'd ever be exclaiming about sweet potatoes or -- more surprising -- Brussels sprouts! Those sprouts are not usually my favorite, yet I ate every single one of these gems!

                                                                  It's good French food, not off the charts. When in Eugene again wanting French, I'd go again. Cocktails good, burger good, cassoulet good, moules good. Wine sélection is good. Needs to have a French beer on the menu, missed not being able to order one
