Our party of five dined on a Monday evening, when Margauxs has a nice prix fixe menu. We had guests staying over with us on their way to Florida who we hadn’t seen in awhile, so it was a good group. The service was attentive, and the food overall was also good. There was one glitch that made my meal less than attractive - they were out of the pork chops, so they offered me a beef entree that wasn’t on the menu as a substitute, which I accepted. There wasn’t another entree choice on the prix fixe menu that paired well with red wine. In retrospect, had I only been there with my wife, I would have sent it back. The beef was stringy and somewhat bland, so wasn’t what I would have deemed an acceptable serving of meat for this establishment. But our friends had driven most of the day to get to Raleigh, so I soldiered through to move things along. But the other entrees (pork chops, ravioli, burger) met with good responses, and the prix fixe option was utilized by three of us, so nice salads and desserts accompanied the meal. The wine was good, though one bottle was moderately overpriced for what it was, I thought. Overall, we had a nice time, and it’s always nice to take out-of-towners to a local restaurant.

The food, as always, was excellent. We had salmon and shrimp dishes. The service made our experience even better. Our server, Shelby, was just perfect, attentive when needed, never rushing us. A delightful evening.

Have dined at Margaux’s several times, this dinner was one of the best. We both got the 3 course pre fixe dinner. The caesar salad hit the spot, the pork dish was delicious, and the scallops were so good! The end came with the oatmeal cream pie/key lime pie dessert that was so scrumptious! Nothing brings a great meal together though like the service. Our server did not disappoint. He helped guide us through the wine list, and made our meal even more of an outstanding experience.

Restaurant did not have our reservation, despite confirmation I received, and I was put on the wait list. I ended up having dinner at another restaurant.

Waitress was fabulous, and the food was great as usual. We were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary and we were seated closely and wedged between a party of eight on our left and a party of eight on our right and both groups were enjoying the evening. My issue was that I was asked by open table if It was a special occasion and I stated that it was an anniversary celebration. Would have thought that because of our event celebration that we would have been provided a more secluded table.
