Matteo's of Hallandale is the sister restaurant to several LI NY restaurants. It is one of our favorites when in Ft. Lauderdale. Luca, the manager, greets everyone at the door, and this level of hospitality permeates thru the whole team. Sergio is our go-to waiter and is fantastic. He took very good care of us and arranged for the team to sing "Happy Anniversary" for us. The stuffed mushrooms appetizer was terrific. We ordered it based on Sergio's suggestion. For entree, we had the red Snapper with clams & shrimp over angel hair pasta. It came in a red sauce. It was more than enough for us to share, and it was great!! On Friday evenings they have live music which adds to the festive and lively dining room.

I ordered the wrong thing but normally the food is great. Service is always top notch and pampering. The team is tenured here and it spins like a top. Everyone gets along and helps as a team. I had never been there in a night with live music in all the times I have been there. The guy was good but too loud if you want a nice convo with dinner guests. Wouldn’t go back on a weekend night.

Very good traditional old school Italian food, good service, pretty restaurant. Only negative is a very loud singer if you sit inside. Outside is quiet.

The food at this restaurant is good however the ambiance is disastrous. Service is very slow and not the fault of the waiter. But . the worst part is the very loud singer that precludes any conversation. Added to that you have peopl;e dancing to that singer that invade tou space at the table. MAnagemnets does little or nothing to correct this situation. The result is a very uncomfortable experience where the only thing that you want to do is leave this horrible place. Never going back to this place.
