It’s a good sign when a restaurant is always busy, and Maxim in Ealing is bustling most nights. This long-established restaurant in Ealing is known affectionately by its customers as “Mrs Chow’s” in homage to the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh, natural ingredients. Feeling adventurous? Swap sesame prawn toast for “shredded jellyfish with three delicacies” or “frog’s leg in black bean sauce”. If not, don’t worry – you’ll do just as well with traditional starters like satay chicken or sweet-and-sour won ton. Follow with aromatic duck, a classic of its kind with crisp golden skin and tender meat, or push the boat out with a whole lobster, halved and served with ginger and spring onion sauce. Side dishes like glossy, crispy green beans are equally good. Finish with deep-fried banana and apple, the crunchy coating giving way to soft, fluffy fruit.

The best Chinese whether to eat in or take away - which we do regularly. Food is excellent, the service is friendly and we are always well looked after.

I’ve loved visiting this restaurant for many years. Food always outstanding. Have noted that the portions have gotten smaller tho and prices increased since Covid. Will always be my fave restaurant

Its my local restaurant and have been going for many years food is always fresh hot and flavourful. Highly recommend starters Beans whick is cooked in a very light tempura batter, duck with pancakes,spring rolls.prawn toast,ribs and seaweed. Buy individual portions not the platter.

The type of Chinese restaurant you want to live close to and use on a regular basis. Beautifully fresh and well cooked food, excellent service and good value for money too. They do very good home delivery but it doesn't get close to how well the food is cooked and presented in the restaurant. Highly recommended.
