We live in the neighborhood. The food is good but the service is always terrible. It was our anniversary which I had stated on the reservation. We never got our food and left. Very upsetting.

I always love dining at Mediterraneo for the delicious food and low key vibe - it’s the perfect neighborhood restaurant. You can never go wrong with the pasta, I’ve never had one disappoint. And the service is AMAZING - you won’t find a kinder or more attentive group of humans in NYC. I highly recommend giving Mediterraneo a try - you won’t be disappointed.

Went for dinner for the first time. We didn't get our "focaccia" and wine until after our main courses were served. The "focaccia" wasn't what we expected- it wasn't the fluffy raised kind but more of a flat cracker. The gnocchi were tender but the pieces were too big so that the centers were doughy. Unfortunately, there are so many italian restaurants in the area, we won't be returning.

My husband and I live in Baltimore but have a NYC apartment near Mediterraneo. For 20 years we have made sure we eat at least one time at Mediterraneo during our visits. The food is outstanding with an excellent menu which one can modify for personal preferences—eg. dishes similar or not on menu the restaurant is willing to make and adding their homemade pasta to some listings. Melania, the hostess/owner is friendly and tries (and most time succeeds) accommodating requests. The ambiance is one of “smiles”,neighborhood chatter’ which allows one to relax and enjoy food and conversation during meals. It is our favorite NYC restaurant.

THE BEST YET!!!! The food is wonderful and this is definitely a neighborhood gem. Our server was absolutely lovely… I couldn’t decide between two pastas, so she offered to do two half portions. It was such a kind touch. Melania is the manager, I believe, and she was so considerate and helpful, and went above and beyond. When we were leaving, Melania asked me where I am delivering — I am 8.5 months pregnant — I told her Mount Sinai East and she proclaimed, ‘we deliver there, get her a menu!’ We will be back and maybe order in to the hospital when I give birth!!
