   This was our first, and last, visit to Mi Cocinia. We recently moved to Tulsa from Georgia and wanted to go to a good, authentic Mexican restaurant and didn’t know where to go so we picked this place. Over priced and bland food. We paid $38 for ribeye fajitas for myself and it was enough steak for about two fajitas and the fatty meat laid on top of a big pile of onions with two little pieces of green pepper. NO FLAVOR at all! Not even a hint of salt. Nothing! It was awful. I asked for sour cream when I placed my order and of course it came out without it. The waitress said she’d go get it and kept walking by our table saying “I’m getting it” which she did, 15min later when my food was cold. My husband ordered poblano chicken enchiladas and I could tell by looking at it that it wasn’t going to be good and he said it was bad when he took his first bite. My husband always leaves a clean plate and eats everything and he just couldn’t eat it. The only thing that we liked was the chips and salsa and the rest was bad so this place is a big fat NO for us! There’s a ton of Mexican restaurants in Tulsa so we will do our homework and find another one to try. We wasted $75, including a tip, on this dinner date. That doesn’t sit well with me. We’re the type that will spend $300+ for great dinner at a nice restaurant and not blink an eye but I’ll lose sleep over spending $75 on bad food or service. Find another place to go folks!!

   My wife and I decided to go here for our anniversary. I made a reservation on open table 3-4 weeks in advance. Now let me get this straight - the back of the house was phenomenal. Everything came out of the kitchen beautiful, in good timing and was all delicious! If you decide to go order the GULF SHRIMP CEVICHE appetizer - it is amazing! The front of the house is where it all needs improvement. Again - made a reservation for 2 and they seat us in the bar area after walking us through a more elegant dining room, without even asking the customary "is the bar ok?"... We had two waitresses(assuming because of where we were seated). They were ok, but one asked us if we were ready to order after we'd already ordered with the other. So - lack of communication- but could have been eliminated by just having one waitress staff responsible. Then comes time to leave. We waited a LONG time just to get the check, then it took so long for them to come back and take my money, I got tired of waiting and took my ticket and card to the bar to pay. If the front of the house could duplicate the back....5 stars EASY!!!!

   Our waitress was very attentive and so sweet. She brought out “to go boxes”while we were winding down, and boxed our food and packaged it for us. She also included a fresh bag of chips and salsa to enjoy later.

   I’m from Dallas, so I dine at a Mi Cocina at least once a week. Tulsa is always a treat, though. Restaurant is well-managed. Food is excellent and today’s service was excellent, both the hostess and my server. 😊

   Great food worst service I’ve seen. Couldn’t find a waitress waiter nearly 10 minutes to be waited on Staff gathered in back rolling silverware and front just talking. Manager presence never seen! Food was great but service not ok and not what is expected. Tried to write a note discreetly to restaurant and got no response. Very disappointing experience when you drive over an hour for dinner.

   We started off on a bad foot. They claim to have texted me to tell me that my table was ready and so we ended up waiting 50 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was great and communicating how busy it was and how long it would take to get our food, but make sure we had drinks. Once we got our food, it was delicious and everything was great. There was a lot of standing around and crowdedness…overbooked maybe. The food was worth it! Through all of that, I will definitely go back.

   Waited an hour, never did get our food, left after eating 2 bowls of chips. Wait staff was super and very apologetic, feel bad for them. Apparently kitchen issues. Valentine’s Day dinner was a bust.

    It was Valentine's night. 6 pm. Long wait on the food and when it came, it wasn't hot. Waitress was great. Food was tasty, just not hot.
