For over 29 years, Michael's Steak Chalet has been delighting steak lovers at the Lake of the Ozarks. Perched on a cliff and overlooking the lake at the 28 mile marker, Michael's Steak Chalet is just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Osage Beach, Missouri. Serving dinner at 4:00pm, you and your guests will enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner in our cozy dining room or weather permitting, settle in under the stars outside on our patio overlooking the lake. Famous for our Prime Rib, that is slow roasted every evening for 16 hours, Michael's also offers generous cut tender filets and strip steaks. All are aged 28 days, hand trimmed and cooked to your temperature. We also offer a wide variety of sea food including Grilled Salmon, Blackened Tuna, or an 8oz "Cold Water" Lobster Tail. Last year we enjoyed Michaels for our New Years Eve dinner so we thought we would do it again this year. We were looking forward to the great food and service we had received before only to be very disappointed. Our service was poor. I am gluten and dairy free and the waitress didn't even register that fact when I told her. She brought crutons on my salad after I had specified no gluten. Then she also brought out the dessert and put it in front of me after I had told her once again, no dairy or gluten. Also, other members of our groups steaks and chicken entrees were not cooked properly. The chicken was under cooked. And the steaks were burnt on the outside, while cold on the inside. We sent the steaks back only to have them brought back out looking not burnt, but still raw in the center. The manager acted mad towards guests at our table. Overall, this was a poor experience. Not how we planned to spend our new years eve. And to top it off, it was a set menu, so everything should have been prepared to perfection.

I wasn't happy with my steak. I ordered it medium rare it was raw and cold. The baked potato was very good.

Four of us went to celebrate 3 b'days & 2017. Prime rib good. Fillet very good. Both ribeyes were tough. Flavor good. Brought most of both of them home for dogs. So tough had to cut them in small bites even for the small dogs. Waiter didn't even ask how things were. It had been awhile since I'd been there. Took people who had never been. Big mistake. Appetizers & baked potato very good. Overall, very disappointed. I fell as I was leaving restaurant. Very dark steps that are hazardous. One young man that I believe worked there very nice & concerned. No follow up tho. Kneecap , ankle & wrist hurt. Restaurant would benefit from more attention to its overall dining experience.

A summer regular here. Decided to try over the Christmas Holidays. Food consistently good. Enjoyed the indoors Christmas decoration. Love this place but just a little pricey food and wine.

The food was delicious! The waitress was apologetic of a very loud crowd behind us, but it did not take away from the wonderful food. Nice place, great service, worth the money.

My wife and I went to Michael's to enjoy a "Christmas" date together, and Michael's exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated for Christmas, the service was prompt and polite, and the food was outstanding.

We have been dining at Michael's for over 15 years, special occasions which make it even more important for the evening to be great. We have never been unhappy with our food or our service. We look forward to dinning at Michael's for many more years. We look forward to our special occasions for many reasons and also because we will be dining at Michael's.

A hidden gem, but we'll worth the drive. The prime rib is the best on the lake!

I went to this restaurant as a child with my parents while on vacation in Osage Beach during the late 1970's - early 1980's when it was called the Swiss Chalet. It would be nice to visit this place for lunch and enjoy the outdoor patio, rather than only be able to dine at dinner. We will plan to return the next time we are in the area.
