   Fantastic food and an even better experience! We absolutely loved the Aburi Salmon Sushi. It was one of the best I’ve had. The Uni Shooter was jaw-dropping, an absolute must try. Our waitress, Sayaka, was incredibly helpful and professional, making our visit even more enjoyable. This place exceeded our expectations, but one recommendation would be to refine the décor and lighting to better reflect a true Japanese ambiance. We initially had a Saturday reservation but canceled after seeing interior photos, as the atmosphere didn’t feel as authentic as we’d hoped. Adding more Japanese ornaments and thoughtful lighting could elevate the experience and make it feel less like a standard restaurant and more like a true Japanese dining experience. That said, the food alone makes Minami worth visiting!

   Great meal and amazing service. We booked the Travelzoo deal but found the food portions to be underwhelming- not a good value for the $ paid. One more course or 8 more sushi pieces on the platter would have made this deal worth it. We had to order more food which I think the restaurant sets you up for with a smaller portion for the deal. The food was very good.

   A meal at Minami is always a great experience. The place is so pleasant and open and peaceful. For us who are of advanced age, we appreciate the fact that it is not noisy. The staff is pleasant and courteous and pleasant.. the food always outstanding.. Unfortunately we can only go there for very special occasions because we are retirees, on a fixed income. So we have to watch our spending. But we highly recommend Minami. It is a brilliant restaurant, as well as close to where we live in Yaletown

   I will start on a positive note: I've consistently experienced excellent service at Minami. The front-of-house team is well-organized, and the service has always been very good. However, I've noticed the food becoming increasingly corporate, with some dishes—especially the rolls and certain appetizers—feeling prepped ahead or premade. Additionally, the selection of wines by the glass is disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber and price point. I strongly suggest reconsidering the white wine options, focusing on quality and balance to better complement the menu. Rather than prioritizing profit margins with lower-quality selections at higher prices, consider consulting a sommelier to curate a more thoughtful and well-rounded wine list

   Came with family for a special occasion a Friday evening. Service was slow but food was good. I feel like fish/seafood portions were larger last year! Soba and sashimi definitely my favourites and the cannoli and cheesecake rocked us!!!

   Food, as usual, was excellent. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive… authentic, pleasant and has great communication skills.
