   Although my husband and I live only 5 minutes away, we have stayed at and dined at the Mission Inn several times. The Mission Inn Restaurant is my favorite, out of all of the restaurants on the property. That being said, we were kind of disappointed last night, as we brought my sister-in-law to the Mission Inn for her first time. We had reservations, but service was extremely slow getting our food out. We weren't bothered by it at first because my husband had ordered a medium-well NY strip steak, and we expected it to take longer. However, when it arrived, it was between medium and medium rare. With waiting between 30-45 minutes for our food, we would have expected it to be done how we ordered it. Also, our server Solomon, never refilled our water once, until I flagged him down and had to ask him to. Thankfully, my sister-in-law enjoyed her food and the ambiance. For $180 (plus $70 in drinks at the bar before being seated), I would expect better service. I know Solomon tried to joke, that he was serving us "tequila" instead of water, to attempt and lighten the mood, we were still kind of embarrassed that we had raved about the amazing restaurant, and then had this experience in front of our sister. My husband left the restaurant hungry, took his leftovers home, and put them in the oven to finish cooking. We aren't the complaining type. We just take our business and our recommendations elsewhere. Unfortunately for Solomon, a potential 25% tip was diminished to 18%.

   The holiday experience at the Mission Inn inside of the main courtyard was absolutely beautiful Our server was beyond attentive and made sure that our simple party of six was going to have an incredible meal with the best service The ribeye steak was good with the jasmine rice, not the best I’ve ever had but quite good and par for the price The salmon plate was excellent, especially with the mustard sauce The appetizers were a bit pricey for the portion size, but the service out in the lounge was excellent, so that made up for a little bit of the difference I would definitely suggest that if you have not done this experience at the mission in you should take advantage !

   The lights were great! Food was not good and extremely expensive. The calamari that my boyfriend ordered, got him sick. I told him as soon as I tasted it that it seemed bad, smelt and tasted very fishy. You’re basically just going there for the lights.

   We definitely loved dining during Christmas. We missed the buffet serving prime rib and the Santa who walks around with the carolers.

   The buffet never disappoints. Our server was fabulous keeping the drinks full. We think there was a smaller turnout this year but it might have been our 10AM reservation?

   Loved the atmosphere and our waitress was wonderful, actually all staff were amazing! However, I am not a fan of them changing it from a menu to buffet. Last year was a menu and the food was great. We were warned about the buffet and I wasn’t happy but figured we’d still go for the experience. For $75 a person, there weren’t many options, and the chicken was very dry! Even the desert options were horrible. My kid cost $37 for some chicken fingers and fries. Not happy with the buffet at all. I really hope they change back to their menu next year!

   I am a return customer of the Mission Inn Restaurant during the Festival of Lights. We usually order off the menu and have pleasant experiences. About 5 years ago we did do the Buffet and I was very pleased with the food, the presentation and the ambiance. It was breathtaking. This year I made the reservations and received a call that it was going to be buffet for Prime Rib Dinner. Since I had experienced a positive previous Dinner with Santa I expected something similar. I was very disappointed because the carving station meats were poor quality, overcooked, dry and inedible. Previous years you saw Santa, had carolers and Wowed. This year I feel it was not worth the $75. Nothing at the buffet met expectations. Not even the desserts. Mission Inn- You disappointed me!

   Made reservations for my family, when we got there, it was dinner buffet only. Reservations at the time did not state this but we were already there so we decided to stay. The was very cold and not worth the value we spent on each person. $75 per person.

   (Buffet style) Great atmosphere but the food for the price doesn’t seem to match. Felt like a hometown buffet with better dressed people. The prime rib was over cooked and the rest was no better than a basic office party meal. Over priced for the food given.

    Food was cold and not tasty and it’s over priced , my drink was too salty , we ordered Bloody Mary virgin ice was not blend.
