First choice was oysters on the half shell. Perfectly fine. Second course was she crab bisque. Perfectly fine. Next came the salads. Perfectly fine. But then came the entree: nice thick sushi grade tuna steaks, served appropriately cool. But they were crusted with a spice concoction. I will defy anyone to defend or eat. I had to cut the sides of the steak away in order to be able to finish the steak. We probably should have sent them back. But to be honest, I was stunned. I really think on an objective level no one could have finished those steaks without removing the spice crust. We concluded the next day that perhaps the preparation had been a mistake and that we probably should have called it to the attention of management. Obviously, you can't give a good grade to a restaurant that adulterates a perfectly beautiful piece of seafood in this way. And if I thought my reaction were merely subjective, I suppose I would swallow my concern and not have mentioned it and, probably, not even have written a review when I received this invitation to do so. But this is not a subjective matter. The crusting was indefensible. We then had a dessert that was perfectly fine.

It's been a few years since we ate here. While always very good, this time was excellent. I had a crab cake, shrimp and scallops. They were perfect. My friend had a steak which was actually better than the steak houses I have eaten at. The view of course is spectacular, and our server, Holly was delightful.

I really loved everything, we celebrated New Year's with my family and we made the perfect decision to go there, everything was exceptional, the food, the service and above all the view of Pittsburgh which is breathtaking, it is super cozy but at the same time very open and divided into parts. You won't regret it!!

Service Excellence at its finest!!! From the moment we arrived….. the Valet was Professional Courteous and Friendly, we were seated right away by Professional Courteous And Friendly staff, the manager came an introduced himself before we even got started to insure if we needed we could let him know to our attendant Danae (sincerest apologies for misspelling) her Service ALL Evening was Top Notch, she provided just enough space to give us privacy while being there to meet our every need! She knew the menu and answered every question and gave good suggestions. The Meal was Delicious, cooked perfectly seasoned perfectly, temperature perfect. Appetizers: shrimp cocktail and Fried Risotto stuffed with Lobster and cheese (can I say OMG to this stuffed amazing appetizer) we both had a Mediterranean Salad which was perfect and I Had as a main the Branzino which was covered in perfectly roasted tomatoes and olives with a share side of perfectly prepared Brussel Sprouts and he had Filet and we ended the night with their birthday celebration sweet treat grilled cheese Dessert it was perfect. Everything was perfect. Thank You for the Perfect End to 2024 Monterey Bay and you made me feel special on my birthday. As I started my dissertation….Service Excellence!!!
