   We had a 7pm reservation on a Tuesday for 3 adults and 2 children. Service was not good and restaurant looked worn, like it had a rough day. We frequent the Mt. Vernon Inn quite a bit, but tonight wasn’t a good experience. It took a long time to get our drinks. They came out right before our food order. Just not a great experience. Food, as always though was delicious. I’m sure we’ll be back again, as restaurants have off nights, but it was disappointing.

   We loved everything we ordered-esp the peanut soup!! For our entree, we got Mac and cheese with bacon added, this dish was wonderful. The 2 men got chicken and waffles which had perfectly crunchy fried chicken and a fluffy waffle. The bourbon maple syrup was super delish. I got the Cobb Salad which was delicious but will take 3 meals to finish.. All of the staff, esp our server, were excellent. Very accommodating, prompt and accurate. Special kudos to the current menu-so many yummy entrees. Thanks for the great experience

   I once again enjoyed having brunch at the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant. The service was excellent as usual and I like the ambience and variety they offer. I think others should consider eating here when they visit Mount Vernon.

   The noise level was so bad could not hear the person who sat across from me.. I wish had known sign language The salad was average — the chicken was tough, full of lettuce, no dressing — poor The service was bad — never asked how things were, did we want dessert or something more to drink You had one person work an entire room.. No wonder — as a member of Mount Vernon I shall not return. I do not blame the waiter this is the result of poor management

    Great experience! Definitely try the hoecakes as an appetizer, and mount Vernon cherry pie to finish the experience.
