   We were celebrating our 40th and Muse was a perfect special occasion restaurant. Food was excellent, as was service. Very nice ambiance. Bar section is separated by a wall and looked to be a nice setting. We lucked out and there was a musician (Friday). Definitely on my list when visiting Montauk.

   Everything was perfect. Service and waitress were awesome. Food delicious. Ambience perfect.

   Food was excellent, as was the musician that night. The staff was friendly. Very attentive and friendly, but weird that after ordering several drinks and asking for a specific liquor we observed from the bar that they in fact didn't even have it.

   I have dined at Muse in Montauk NY many times, and this is the first that has been less than enjoyable. First, we were seated in the direct path of the in-and-out door on a very cold evening. We had a reservation, but were not asked upfront, and there were several empty tables on the warmer side of the room. The room was more than half empty. The servers were cordial (even with the vocal abuse by my companion). We ordered French onion soup, and halfway through requested a different table, and were moved to the warmer side of the room right away. (So, why didn't they put us there in the first place?) The waiter (there seemed to be only one waiter, along with a hostess) took our dinner orders. The choices were limited. We both had French onion soup, which I found too sweet and the cheese too gooey, but it was hot and acceptable. Our main courses were, as usual at Muse, gargantuan. My fish and chips were overly oily and the French Fries overly fried and wrinkled with no salt. My companion made his way through his fluke dish and mashed potatoes. I had enough left over for another meal at home (without the French fries). I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had made better choices. PS I ordered a glass of white wine, which was delivered with ice cubes in it. I suppose they didn't have a chilled bottle. Later, when my companion ordered the same wine, it was cold. The server should have told me the wine I ordered was not available at the time and asked if I wanted to change the order or wait for this wine to chill.

   Everyone should have the opportunity to experience Travis's exceptional greeting and service. He was both attentive and proactive with his suggestions. Kudos to Muse for having him on their team!
