We get our name from John Gahan, a prominent merchant and importer of wines, teas, and groceries on Prince Edward Island in the 19th century. His former place of residence is now the location of the original Gahan House in Charlottetown, P.E. To share our award-winning ales with more of Atlantic Canada, we opened our doors and our taps in Halifax, N.S., Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton, N.B., and St. John’s, N.L.

    We could not possibly be more impressed with CHOP Steakhouse & Bar, Halifax. The wait staff was exceptionally attentive and the food perfectly prepared. We both agreed it was the best customer service we have ever received in a restaurant. If we could give CHOP Steakhouse ten stars out of five, we most certainly would. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

    I've always loved Gahan House regardless of the location. Most recently, I was there last night. Food was fantastic and our service was on point. The server we had couldn't have been more lovely; so friendly and kind. I would highly recommend. The only concern were the floors. If you don't have grips on your shoes, you could easily wipe out, if you're not careful.
