Simcoe Restaurants

Recently went to a Michelin star restaurant in Oakville, called Hexagon. We spent a fortune and came home disappointed 😔, having to eat another meal once we got home, due to the portion sizes. The Old Mill was the complete opposite experience. Fantastic in all ways!! Great food, great value, great service, and a winter wonderland atmosphere!! We spent a third of the money, and were SO MUCH happier.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner tonight. We were seated by the window with a view of the river. Our Server Michelle was very personable and attentive. We both thoroughly and I mean thoroughly enjoyed a 7oz Tenderloin served with potato pave, roasted onion, spinach purée and bordelaise. OMGoodness was it good! Kudos to the Chef! We had tea and shared a Chocolate Ganache, totally decadent but the portion was very tiny and we could have each had one wink wink. There was 1 downfall with zero fault of the restaurant, the table beside is was uber loud and the perfume worn by one of the women was totally nauseating and affected my allergies. Fortunately, they were seated a few minutes before we left.

We loved the decor changes that have been done since our last time at Devlin’s. Serving staff were superb and attentive. The addition of a sommelier to staff is a nice touch and we had a fabulous bottle of wine.

Took my friend out for a Christmas Lunch and it was a great experience. We both ordered the specialty mulled wine but it was severely over spiced with cinnamon and allspice (I think) that it was undrinkable. I asked our server to just bring us a glass of wine which she did right away. The rest of our meal was fabulous so we were both happy that we had a great glass of wine to compliment it. The mulled wine was removed from our bill which was very nice of the server. All in all, it was a great afternoon and a wonderful way to spend time with a good friend!

Food was delicious and customer service was fantastic!
