- MMichaelSeattle / Eastern Washington •17 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoOur fifth meal at Hualani’s, 7 for dinner this time. As all our previous visits, excellent by every measure. From the superior wine list to the incredible birthday lava cake, flawless. Service was attentive and accommodating but not hovering. Very friendly. Shared appetizers of watermelon, goat cheese and beets, blackened scallops, arugula, goat cheese and honey comb, braised short-rib gyoza. All were excellent. Main courses were spectacular. Ribeye, filet, mahi, pasta, glazed pork ribs, sea bass. All perfectly executed. The Trefethen Cab was wonderful. Thank you for yet another great experience.More infoHualani'sPrice: Very Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Lihue•4.8

- RroryvipLos Angeles •8 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFood was delicious! We have dined a lot at the Huntington Beach location so we wanted to try something new and different here. I had the coconut ginger braised seafood and I enjoyed it tremendously. My husband had the filet mignon with coconut shrimp and he said it was delicious. I loved the Dukes Mai Tai cocktail. We all enjoyed the Hula Pie and pretty much inhaled everything. Our waiter, Mark, was very attentive, answered all our questions and we appreciated all his suggestions. We will definitely come back the next time we are in KauaiMore infoDuke's KauaiPrice: Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Lihue•4.6
- JJackMinneapolis - St. Paul •25 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe were greeted by Giuseppe the owner who seated us at a table with a spectacular view of the ocean and the mountains. We started with perfect Mai Tais. The bread was delicious a dipped in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the unique dispenser for both. We split a beet and Gorgonzola walnut salad and had a wonderful Italian red wine called Zacagnini Montepulcian. So smooth and full bodied! I had Seafood Diavalo which was linguine and seafood in a light red sauce. Big hunk of lobster and calimari, shrimp, clams and fresh fish. My wife had melt in your mouth ossobucco. Wow! Dessert was profiteroles which are tiny cream puffs filled with gelato and drizzled with Belgian chocolate with decaf cappuccino. Incredible meal!! Definitely a repeat visit in our future!!More infoCafe PortofinoPrice: Expensive• Italian• Lihue•4.4

Discover Lihue
Lihue, the capital city of the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, is home to arguably the most diverse array of restaurants on the island. The restaurants in Lihue serve everything from authentic Italian cuisine to organic pescatarian food to "ono local grindz." However, all of the local eateries have something in common: the fresh seafood. The locally caught shrimp is especially popular with visitors. Known throughout the Hawaiian Islands as some of the tastiest shrimp around, the shrimp of Kauai is much sweeter and softer than the shrimp sold at mainstream grocery stores. As a special surprise, Kauai shrimp is usually served with the head on.
