- PPaulAsheville / Western North Carolina •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoExcellent first experience at Luminosa. David was attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Only hiccup--and we didn't really care that much--was that the first course came out well before our first round of drinks arrived. But those bone marrow tots were piping hot and delicious, and we'd rather have tots hot and ready than lingering on the line... Lemon pizza second course was quite good--plenty for 4 to share. Entrees were really well prepared: the half chicken was as good as advertised by David, the coppa steaks were **outstanding**, and the skirt was perfectly cooked. We also had gnocchi, fusilli, polenta, kohlrabi and spinach--all plentiful to share and well executed. Everything was hot when it hit the table, which is vital for a great meal. The staff was on point, and there was good support on service. Desserts have to be next level to really stand out during a great meal, but the honeycomb concoction with the semi-freddo was inventive and delicious. This particular meal was one of just a handful I can recall here in Asheville where the $130/person/all-in was *really* worth it. But it was, and we'll be back.More infoLuminosaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Asheville•4.8

Everyone’s meal in the group of 4 enjoyed their meal and we all had coconut cake. We will be back.More infoThe BlackbirdPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Asheville•4.5

- JJanAsheville / Western North Carolina •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoVery nice evening. We were seated immediately, staff was very welcoming and service was excellent. Our food was excellent, particularly the Beef Pot Roast, the corn bread, and the sides with the Beef Pot Roast. Very pleasant environment and it was quiet...we were able to talk easily.More infoVillage Social-Biltmore EstatePrice: Expensive• Regional American (Southern)• Asheville•4.6
Discover Black Mountain
It's tucked away in western North Carolina yet conveniently located within a short distance of the sophisticated small city of Asheville and all that the western part of the state has to offer. It's also home to a range of great restaurant options, including taverns, cafes and bistros. Menu choices at these places include modern American dishes, homemade baked goods and gourmet burgers. Venturing away from Black Mountain, the choices are much more extensive, especially in Asheville, where there are steakhouses and comfort foods, as well as French, Italian, Mexican and American menu items. Don't be fooled by Asheville's smaller size, as its restaurant lineup rivals those of many cities that are much larger. Many of the smaller towns near Black Mountain also offer up some unique restaurant choices.
