Great starters and mains. The desserts were the only let-down. The Basque cheesecake was a little dry and the almond tart was dense and lacked flavour. I wouldn’t let this put you off. The overall experience was very good with the quality of the beef being top-notch and the cooking well executed.

Kyloe is by far the best steak house in Edinburgh. Service is impeccable and food is incredible. We opted for the "steak me out" formula. We had the chateaubriand which was perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth. The sauces were perfectly made, the whiskey and peppercon one was delightful. Personnel is very prepared and extremely kind. Kyloe has also been awarded a AA rosette and it is very well deserved as it is a real pleasure to dine here.

The rump steak was really good and the oysters were unreal! Ambiance is very cozy and the staff were exceptional especially Tj and Joanna! It is a bit expensive especially the cocktails or wines, but you get what you pay for. Great for celebrations!

A lukewarm reception as I don’t think the gentleman who booked us in and took our menus uttered a single world to us when we arrived. He just collected the menus from their storage shelf and headed for the table. Not to worry though as (spoiler alert!) the food was excellent! It’s also fair to say he warmed up once we were seated and looked after us well. Overall I’d say this was a very enjoyable evening. We went for the Festive Set Menu which is terrific value! The portion sizes were generous too. My wife’s turkey was thick, juicy and flavourful and my Flat Iron Steak was perfect. A five star experience, just a pity about the blasé welcome.
