- NNatashaPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoI took my husband for his birthday, and it was just so amazing. The staff was lovely, the food was incredible! Our favorite dish was definitely the Elk Meatballs, they were tender and had an amazing flavor! The atmosphere was very nice. I would definitely take my husband back again for anything.More infoBardea SteakPrice: Expensive• Italian• Wilmington•4.6
- LLaurenPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoThis is a spot that I've been covering a visit to fire a long time and it didn't disappoint. The cocktails had a nice punch but didn't bowl you over with the distinct burn. The seafood tower was fresh and paired with the most amazing sauces. The steaks were so tender, I barely needed a knife and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were so light but flavorful. Then the creme brulèe was prepared with such thought that every bite was crisp and accompanied with a silky cream. Paired with the latte, this was a prefect meal in a beautifully curated atmosphere with the most charismatic and timely service provided by our server, Teddy. This is the perfect venue for a date night or big event, don't miss out on Tonic!More infoTonic Seafood and SteakPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Wilmington•4.5
- NNancyVIPPhiladelphia County •88 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoA mistake on my part started off badly but turned into a wonderful meal with a wonderful server ( wish I had gotten her name) and a most delicious meal with melt in your mouth filet of beef. Warning!!! There is Bardea Food and Drink and Bardea Steak!! Make sure you know which one your reservation is for! Our server saved the day with delicious options to make for a complete meal explaining each dish to our party of four and timed each course perfectly. We had theater tickets so were aware of the time and arrived to our show in plenty of time. Turned into a great experience and will definitely be aware of which BARDEA we’re dining at next time! Any item on the menu will be a true culinary delight!!More infoBardea Food & DrinkPrice: Moderate• Italian• Wilmington•4.8
- KKathleenPhiladelphia County •6 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 16, 2024My friends and I visited Winterthur today and stopped by Eclipse Bistro on our way back home to New Jersey. We were greeting by a friendly host and shown to a nice table by the window. Our meal was perfect--one ordered a burger, one ordered the shrimp salad, one ordered the chop salad. The meals were perfect. Our server, Patrick, was so kind and helpful. Overall, the atmosphere was charming and comfortable, and this was a perfect fit for 3 BFFs. Would definitely return to this restaurant if in the area.More infoEclipse BistroPrice: Expensive• Contemporary French / American• Wilmington•4.9

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
