Plantsville's well-known Old Mill is now New Mill Restaurant, featuring the culinary talents of its new Executive Chef, Bob Martucci. This lovely 1737 cider mill has been a Connecticut favorite for many years, and has now completely renovated by its owners, Chris and Michelle Calvanese. Menu specialties include fresh-only seafood and raw bar selections, "chop house" Angus steaks, and homemade pastas and desserts. An expanded wine list and a large sociable bar round out the new offering.

Monica was our server and she was outstanding! Three of us done out monthly and we tried New Mill last night and was not disappointed!! I had the Maple Glazed Pork Chop and it’s cooked just right and was the best ever. The other entrees were crab stuffed cod and a home made cavatelli pasta with grilled chicken and those were also excellent. I topped off my meal with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. Wow! Definitely going back!!

We have enjoyed coming to the New Mill for years and spent many thousands of dollars on dinners. We have never complained about the quality of food. But tonight put the nail in the coffin for us. We ordered two 16oz New York Strip steaks at market price ($45 per steak) The steaks were chewy and loaded with close to 50% fat. We had the manager come over and he tried to tell us this is what a New York Strip is. At “Market Price” we got a “Select Grade” cut of steak. What a ripoff at $45 per steak. With that price, at a minimum it should have been a “Choice Grade” steak No comp, no respect, no appreciation for long time customers and charged full price with no remorse at all. Do not order cheap graded steaks at inflated prices. Tonight they lost customers that always advocated for the restaurant.

Excellent meal. Filet mignon and short rib special. The special of bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer was a bonus . It was all very good. We will definitely go back.

The service was outstanding. Seated immediately at the bar as we requested Very professional service. Quality of food was perfect. Each course was prepared that was served perfectly. This restaurant is very efficient and is highly tecvomended

Food was very good and ambiance was great, it is loud and a bit dark so bring your glasses and a flashlight for the menu. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. They were doing their best in a very busy establishment. Overall would recommend to friends and will be back
