This is my third Nicks restaurant this year. I’ve now eaten in Laguna, DelmMar and San Clemente I wish there was one in La Jolla (where I live). Everything’s about it is great. Service, ambiance, food and prices. It’s a real treat

We really enjoyed our lunch at Nick's. We all ordered the blackened fish sandwich. As usual, it was superb! The petite bistro salad is also delicious. Service was prompt and excellent.

Food always consistently good, service very good, noise level can be too much for conversations - no real quiet section, although the patio probably the least noisy. Our friends feel the same way, I presume the restaurant is OK with how things are.

We had heard such good things about Nicks but found it to be disappointing. Service was good and everyone friendly but the food was lacking. I had the halibut and it tasted like frozen fish that’s been defrosted with bad texture. My husband had the ribs which were light on meat, mostly bones. In addition, I ordered a grey goose martini and it was the worst I’ve ever had. Not sure if it was the olives used? Should’ve sent it back but didn’t. Don’t think we’ll be returning.

Nick's is consistently great. There's always something on the menu for everyone; the service is always friendly and informed; and the ambiance is (almost) always lively. It was the perfect place to celebrate New Year's Eve. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner spot, this is not the place. Reservations are recommended, but they do keep a few tables open for walk-ins and dinner is served at the bar as well. I highly recommend Nick's San Clemente if you are in the area.

The artichoke-spinach cheese appetizer with tortilla chips is a must have. The chefs are always spot on cooking the salmon with a crispy crust and blanching the spinach with bok choy. We have gone to Nicks at least 6 times and the food and service is excellent!
