As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    The food is absolutely incredible! The vegan and standard options for the chef tasting was delicious. The ambiance was lively and lighting romantic. Our server was inattentive and we often had to request items (water, new utensils) more than once. Not sure if I’d return given this, but would consider it given the fabulous food!

    What a wonderful experience. Our server completely picked our menu and it was perfect. We sent comments to our friends how impressed we were with the restaurant. We also loved that it was busy but not too loud. Often we experience places where you can’t hear anyone speaking at your table…. Nobu was great! Thank you!

    Left completely hungry dissatisfied and sick. After having replaced my salmon dish two times, bringing out the wrong appetizer we left with food on the table, and all three of us felt sick. Expensive? Yeah. But that isn’t the point we knew what we were walking into. Walking out feeling sick and robbed. No talk about the ambiance. - Food ordered: Three drinks specials Tuna tataki-mediocre Crispy rise/spicy tuna- good Black cod-ok Salmon x2- horrible, horrible — Waitress Diana, got our order incorrectly brought at a extra dish. Never confirmed the order with us. Just felt like a cheap place running to be expensive and not there
