Under the guidance of the Livanos family and Paul McLaughlin, Oceana has provided New Yorkers with an exceptional seafood destination since 1992.

Oceana delivers a fresh, seasonal, innovative and approachable seafood-forward menu, with additional offerings suitable for any palate.

Oceana has a 70 seat Cafe with a 18 seat marble bar. Great for lunch, after work cocktails & snacks, pre-theater dinner and post-theater desserts. Spring and Summer bring a 50 seat outdoor dining area, private dining options include our Chefs Table for 4, our new Chefs Counter for 6, Wine Room for 18, and our Grand Salon for 80. Full buyouts are also available.

    This was my second time there in as many months. First time I enjoyed the delicious bar menu in that lovely setting before heading to the theater, and this time hosted a birthday dinner in the main dining room. Service was excellent in both settings, as were the completely different menus. The dining room provided a fine dining experience with every course, all delicious and beautifully presented, with attentive and highly-trained service. And with the tables nicely spaced in the elegant dining room, so that conversation was easy. With so many appealing menu options, I will be returning soon.

    Loved Oceana and will definitely return, easily the best restaurant near(ish) the theater district. I booked for Valentine's Day based on the menu online, when they called me to confirm a few days before they made a point of letting me know there was a four-course prix fixe for V-Day. Considerate! Although I must say: there were 5-6 choices for each of the courses so it was hardly a skimpy menu. My wife got the wine pairing with her meal and the sommelier was really informative, explaining not just the wine but why he paired it (we love that kind of stuff). Not all the dishes were homeruns, but all were above average. My appetizer of scallop crudo topped with caviar was one of the homeruns, I'd return for that dish; and for the "smores budino" dessert (which was served in big bowl, I expected it in a glass) -- it was a huge portion, very much shareable. My wife's beet salad was very good. The chef seems to really prioritize contrasting textures in all the dishes, which I love. My cocktail was also good (a Penicillin but with tequila instead of whiskey), tasty, not too sweet -- and not too strong. Space is great, high ceilings, not jammed in next to everyone (but close enough that we did eavesdrop on some hilarious conversations). Wait staff was there when you wanted them, absent when you wanted space. Excellent all around.

    Oceana was highly recommended by friends who had great experiences in the past. That is why we were completely disappointed. It was a pre-fixe menu so it was a limited menu. However the disappointment came from the execution of each dish. First dish was Chilled Oysters with a cucumber foam. The foam was so overwhelming all you could taste was cucumber. Second course was a Lump Crab Cake with a celery root remoulade. The remoulade tasted like plain mayonnaise. Third course was Seared Scallops. This was the worst part of the meal. The scallops were so undercooked it was like warmed up crudo. So bad, it was inedible. We were headed to a show so there was no time to ask for a make good. The desert was adequate. Our server was good, the wine list was very good and we enjoyed the ambiance. I'm sure we caught them on a bad night but unfortunately I don't see myself ever going back.

    All the entrees we had were outstanding. I had the fettuccine with lobster, which was muy yummy. The cheesecake was disappointing as it was too busy, with multiple flavors fighting against each other, making it a “What is this?” But this did not diminish the overall experience, which was quite good for my family and me. We’ll be going again.

    Had an amazing experience at Oceana. We celebrated my wife’s birthday with our best friends. They even brought out a cake with a birthday candle for my wife. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!

    We have dined at Oceana before with good meals but today’s visit was extraordinary. We did the Restaurant Week menu with wine pairing. The food was excellent with a special surprise of a birthday dessert. Our waiter Jun was very attentive and the courteous. Our sommelier Matthew was extremely knowledgeable about each wine and with desert offered a melon liqueur which was delicious. Thank you Oceana!

    We got the restaurant week wine pairings and the Sommelier was incredible. He really made our night! We will be back.

    Waiter suggested a special dish for the day. Taste and texture was just ok. Wish we stuck with our original menu items.
