        The food here is very delicious and carefully prepared. Reservations are a must most of the time since it is very popular with tourists and people working nearby. It is not inexpensive but it’s a wonderful experience. The decor is elegant, especially the bar in back.

        Our first time to DC, I booked a reservation at the Old Ebbitt. From the moment we walked in, to the minute we left, it was a great experience. We stepped into a beautiful, historic restaurant filled with hustle and bundle at 5p! That didn’t stop the hostess who welcomed us and called me by name. At the entrance, there are matchbooks for guests like back in the day. :-) There was no wait and we were promptly seated at a cozy booth. Our server arrived within seconds and was so personable and engaging. We ordered and were mesmerized by the beauty of the restaurant, people moving to and fro, the level of efficiency - everyone was enjoying the experience. Even given the activity, the acoustics are outstanding and allow for quiet conversation. The menu offered a great variety of choices, including healthy (fruit) and to perfection. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment if you’d like a step back in time, great experience and a true taste of DC.

        It was wonderful to be in such an historical place. The service was wonderful, the food was scrumptious and we were very happy with our table which was in a relatively quiet location. We had a fabulous time  making memories at the Old Ebbitt Grill. CC and KK
