Old Tbilisi Garden Is The Only Georgian Restaurant In Greenwich Village, New York City. Old Tbilisi Garden opened on July 4th, 2014. Since then, it has been one of the only few restaurants that offer authentic Georgian Cuisine in Manhattan. Winemaking is deeply rooted in Georgia’s history, culture
and economy. The world’s first cultivated grapevines are
thought to have originated in the country’s fertile valleys
some 8,000 years ago. Georgia’s long winemaking history
has given rise to unique methods of production, such as
the “Kakhetian rule”. Georgians make wine that is aged and
stored in a special cone-shaped clay vessel known as
a Qvevri.

Great Ambience and Lighting in an active and bustling restaurant with authentic food and character. Main Dishes were excellent as was the appetizers. Borscht was cold and not flavorful and waitresses were delayed and understaffed for a Saturday night. Worth going back though. We enjoyed it. Z

It was great! Food was good, drinks amazing. Desert napoleon was not right, it was not napoleon at all, was not worth the money. Main courses were delicious. Service was pretty nice too! Overall nice place.

Service was very good despite the restaurant becoming busier toward the end of our visit. The khachapuri and khinkalli were outstanding and the pair was perfect to split between two people. The ideali cake was a great cap to the meal, especially with Sarajishvili (Georgian brandy).

Lovely, delicious and quiet. A great respite from the NYU-centric madness of the neighborhood.

Selected this place for its proximity to where we were staying and also that it presented an interesting menu with many gluten free options.

Excellent dinner for 3. We enjoyeed the dry white Kisi wine. We shared the "boat shaped" Khachapuri ("Georgian pizza" with luscious Sulguni cheese), and the beef and pork Khinkali dumplings. The entrees -- pork skewers, the branzino, the Shkmeruli were all terrific. We were seated in the "garden" area in the back, which is lovely. The service was friendly, prompt and courteous. Note: They only accept AMEX and cash.
