Best Cozy Restaurants in Oakville

This was our second time eating at Buca and it did not disappoint! My fiancé ordered the pasta special and I ordered off of the menu. The calamari appetizer and our mains were cooked to perfection. The cannolis were simple and delicious. A little loud inside due to a boisterous group; however, the noise level decreased upon their departure. We will definitely be back. It's nice to see a restaurant that's doing it right.

We had booked a Valentine dinner for 2. I didn’t expect much, but the welcoming ambiance and pleasant, accommodating host and sommelier were a great experience to set us on the wonderful evening with a pink rose wrapped in a bouquet style. We started with 2 glasses of Prosecco, then with an incredible lobster bisque served like a French union soup style but instead with a puff pastry on top covering the soup bowl. The lobster bisque was so much flavour from the fresh lobster and little chunks of lobster meat. My wife was amazed at how good it was better than many of our Michelin-starred restaurants that we have been to. The next course was the 2 large ravioli filled with braised short ribs, which was tender and had great texture and juicy flavours made along with the wrapped sheets of pasta. I would say it’s even comparable and even better than Famiglia Baldassarre in Toronto. The next course was the New York steak and fresh lobster cooked perfectly, a tempting and tender treat. We have had lobster at high-end steak houses and it’s often overcooked to hard and from frozen lobster. This was fresh, and you could tell the sweet and tender lobster meat. We ended with a large pink macaroon, soft and with great texture. Truly a memorable experience, I recommend doing special menus like this more often.

Best valentines experience yet! Thank you for all your accommodations and wonderful ambiance. Will return. Only thing I wish I could have had another drink but was never offered a top up of water or second beverage. The fillet mignons ordered were cooked differently, but were supposed to both be medium well. One was a little undercooked from the other. The other thing was that there was a female manager confronting their staff about a mishap in front of my table. Not the best place to talk about business. However, it was a lovely place and very tasteful food.

Food was excellent as always. We had ordered the lunch special which was an amazing 3-course that was flavourful and offered a wonderful variety. Highly recommend the special - great value. Service was professional and friendly as always too!
