An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware. We had a large group for afternoon tea at the Post Room. We were seated in a large, beautiful, semi-private room. The servers and service were wonderful. I loved the way they presented the options for tea by coming around with a cart with dry tea leaves in glass vessels to smell before choosing. The bourbon vanilla rooibos was particularly good! The table, dishes, and tea service were beautiful. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the sandwiches a little more robust, so you get a better balance of savory and sweet. I hope that the Post Room will start doing afternoon tea year round!
